Excavation safety is a standardized set of safety precautions for trenching and excavation to eliminate hazards and control risks in compliance with excavation safety regulations. Excavations in which the width and, usually, depth of operations are limited. Trenching can be done in any soil and sometimes falls under the category of limited area, vertical excavation.
