Construction work is a dangerous land-based job. Some construction site jobs include: building homes, roads, tree forts, job sites, and repairing and maintaining infrastructure. This work involves many hazardous tasks and conditions such as working at heights, digging, noise, dust, power tools and equipment. The most common deaths are from four fatal causes: falling, being struck by an object, electric shock, and being trapped between two objects. In the last few years, construction work has been increasing in developing and underdeveloped countries. Occupational mortality rates have increased with the increase in this type of work. Occupational deaths are individuals who die while on the job or while performing work-related tasks.
